Some food intolerances are caused by an enzyme deficiency or chemical sensitivity, while others are associated with an immune response related to food-specific antibodies called IgG antibodies.

These IgG antibodies recognise and bind to specific food proteins to form immune complexes in the body, which can accumulate in joints and other organs where they cause inflammation and many of the symptoms associated with food intolerance.

A VO2 max test with Wellness International involves a graded exercise test on a treadmill or exercise bike. It starts at relatively low levels of exercise intensity. The intensity increases at regular intervals until maximum exertion is reached.

After your maximum exercise test you will be given a comprehensive set of results which will allow your fitness trainer to tailor your exercise programme to your individual requirements using specific training heart rates.
